After iOS, Android and Symbian, music streaming app Spotify is now available on the Windows Phone 6 platform.
Spotify, which is unfortunately still not available in the U.S., provides free, unlimited music streaming to users in an ad-supported interface. (An ad-free version is available for a monthly fee, which also includes mobile access to the service.)
Spotify on Windows Phone 6 includes the ability to listen to entire tracks and albums, stream over Wi-Fi or 2.5/3G, run the app in the background, download playlists, adds tracks to a favorites list and wirelessly sync your music with your local files.
Windows Phone 6 users can download Spotify from the Windows Marketplace for mobile, or directly from m.spotify.com. The list of supported devices includes HTC HD2, HTC Touch Pro 2, Samsung Omnia 2, Sony Ericsson Xperia 1 and Sony Ericsson Xperia 2.
Spotify also promises a version for Windows Phone 7 “soon.” The new mobile platform from Microsoft should become available on October 21, complete with a new UI and thorough integration with social networks such as Facebook, as well as Microsoft’s other services, such as Bing and Xbox Live.
